Iakovos Volkov (b. 1982, Russia) lives and works in Athens, Greece. He works with found materials and discarded everyday items, using textiles, plastic and metal. Focusing on composition and texture, Volkov creates sculptures and installations that evoke contemporary issues and explore single words conceptually. An important part of his artistic practice involves site specific interventions in abandoned, derelict urban sites, ephemeral work which he captures through photography.
